Terms
Terms of use
Last updated 1 November 2026
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and RudimentaryLabs (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them and to our Privacy policy. If you are under 18, your school, or your parent or guardian, should go through these terms with you; for students under 13, a parent or guardian agrees on the student's behalf when the account is made.
Schools and accounts
- Schools. A school registers and is approved by us before it can invite anyone. The person who registers a school confirms they are allowed to do so on its behalf. Each school has a limit on how many teachers and students it can have, which we set.
- What schools are responsible for. Inviting and approving only their own teachers and students; getting any permission from parents that their law or rules require; keeping their member list up to date; and the material their teachers publish.
- Your account. Give accurate details, keep your password secret, and don't let anyone else use your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
- Visitors. Anyone can browse the catalogue and try the free sample lessons and explainers without an account.
Using the site properly
Please don't:
- try to get into other people's accounts, other schools' material, or parts of the site you haven't been given;
- attack, overload or probe the site for weaknesses, or get around its limits or access controls;
- copy the site's content in bulk, including with scrapers or automated tools;
- share invite codes or logins with people outside your school;
- publish anything unlawful, hurtful, hateful, sexual, or that breaks someone else's rights; or
- use the site to bully, harass or mislead anyone.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@rudimentarylabs.com rather than using it.
Our content
The lessons, explainers, research digests, projects, diagrams, quizzes and practice questions on RudimentaryLabs belong to us (or to the people we got them from). You may read, use and print them for your own learning, and teachers may use them with their own classes. You may not sell them, republish them on another site, or use them to build a competing service without our written permission.
Lessons are original explanations aligned to topics in Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS & A Level and IB Diploma courses. RudimentaryLabs is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cambridge Assessment International Education or the International Baccalaureate Organization. Our practice papers and questions are not official exam papers, and using them doesn't guarantee any result.
Content you add
Teachers can publish lessons, reading lists and other material for their school. You keep ownership of what you make. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people your school chooses, and back it up, for as long as it's on the site. You confirm that you have the right to share it, including any pictures or text from other sources. We may remove material that breaks these terms.
Other people's content
Videos are embedded from YouTube and belong to their creators. Research digests link to the original papers, which belong to their authors and publishers. We don't control those sites, and their own terms apply when you use them.
Safety
DIY projects and “Try this!” activities can involve sharp tools, heat, chemicals, batteries or electricity. Read the whole activity first, follow its safety notes, use the right protective gear, and never work with mains electricity. Children should do practical activities only with a responsible adult. You carry out activities at your own risk, and teachers remain responsible for supervising activities in their classes.
Accuracy
We check our content carefully, but mistakes can slip through, and syllabuses change. RudimentaryLabs is for learning; it is not professional, medical, legal or engineering advice. If you spot an error, please tell us and we'll fix it.
Changes and availability
We keep improving RudimentaryLabs, so features and content may change, and we may add, move or remove material. We aim to keep the site running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or free of faults. When something important changes for schools, we'll let them know.
Ending an account
You can stop using RudimentaryLabs at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy policy). Schools can remove their members. We may suspend or close an account or a school's access if these terms are broken, if it's needed to protect other users, or if the law requires it. Where we reasonably can, we'll explain why first.
Our responsibility
RudimentaryLabs is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for loss or damage that comes from using the site, from its content being wrong or unavailable, or from activities you carry out. Nothing in these terms removes rights that you have under the law and that can't be taken away, or limits our responsibility where the law says it can't be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell schools before an important change takes effect. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply.
